So, there was a fairly large blizzard night night. I don’t remember the last time I saw so much snowfall – over 27 inches in my hometown of Wakefield, MA. Thankfully we didn’t lose power, but I know quite a few people who did. Hopefully everything is all fixed by now. It’s very cold outside. Here are a few photos from the storm along with related stories!
There was a snowball fight involving over 2,000 kids at Boston University. Fun, right? Some kid decided to throw a snowball at a police officer. The kid got tasered.
With classes cancelled due to Nemo, Boston University students got in the wintertime spirit, hosting “Snowbrawl 2013” on the Esplanade Friday night. More than 2,000 students allegedly RSVP’d to attend, clad in colorful snow goggles and apparently not enough layers to avoid screaming, “Ow.”
The Boston Police and Boston University Police Departments did show up to the scene. Multiple students were allegedly detained, and the photo below suggests one was tasered for throwing a snowball at a cop:
A baby was born. The thought of giving birth in the middle of a blizzard is scary.
Storm, be damned. A Worcester baby was determined to arrive during the middle of the blizzard and did so at her mother’s home — with the help of a team effort by Worcester rescue workers and the National Guard.

I went out twice during the blizzard – once to explore, and once to shovel. I spent most of the weekend redesigning this website and working on keyboard programming for Spelling Bee. Hopefully most of the roads will be relatively clear tomorrow. If they’re not, I don’t know how I’m going to get to our final two performances of Drowsy Chaperone.
